Immy finds her feet

We’re off!

not a lot of time for blogging tonight.. It all feels a bit weird really. We fly in Saturday, pre-op appointments Monday, surgery Tuesday, in-patient until the weekend, and then it’s outpatient physio every weekday for three weeks (and possibly some orthopaedic surgery slipped in, but we don’t know about that yet). Home on 9/10 June.

In the car home from school Imogen, by turns, stated: that she didn’t want to walk; that Owen was to have the operation instead; her teachers would be cross if she missed her class assembly; she was only going to go for two weeks… and then finally lost the plot completely! I think it’s starting to sink in!

But not for me yet, as we’ve had the craziest week imaginable, with part of our roof missing, an injured arm (Owen) and precautionary x-ray today, a mountain of work to complete etc. You’ll be pleased to hear we’ve pretty much packed (at least we’ve piles of things we plan to take), and have tomorrow morning also whilst the children are at school.

We needn’t have worried about the house being left empty either – roofers, insurance assessors, grandfathers, my lovely friend who’s staying here from time to time. The house will be even busier than usual!

We’re going to need an extra case just for all the gifts, cards, pictures from children etc that we’ve been given to take with us. And the phone has rung constantly most of the evening with people wishing us well.. and facebook messages and texts – I’m not complaining, love it, but it has not helped with packing. Actually we’re really touched by all the messages we’ve received – and all who’ve promised to pray for us and/or keep us in their thoughts. We’ll try to keep you updated as much as we can!
